My reMarkable 2 Review

First things first: The reMarkable 2 is an amazing piece of technology. It’s really great to read and especially to write on it. It has some downsides and small annoyances, yes. But in general I definitely love it and enjoy using it every time I pick it up. Now the details… I have my reMarkable since about two months now. I didn’t use it as much as I would have liked, but that’s my life’s problem and none of the device ... [Read More]

That Time I Went to NaNoWriMo

It’s that time of the year again… November is near and NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. I get excited about it since two or three years now, but I think I remember to have first heard of it already sometime around 2010. I liked the idea that you sit down each day for a month to write and at the end of it you have written your own novel. I knew that it would not be a finished book and that the whole idea is to get an early first draft ready during that time… just writing, not looking back, not listening to your inner critic and putting down 50000 words in one month ... All new but still the same

Once again I recreated this blog from the ground up. It’s been very quiet around here after I had some months last year where I posted more regularly, but I still enjoy writing, whether people read it or like it or not. What I also like is always improving the way I create my content. What you see today basically looks just like the site did a few months ago, but it was completely rebuilt ... [Read More]

NaNoWriMo Day 3

Now I understand why it is hard to get the 50k done in one month. Yesterday everything seemed pretty easy, the words just appeared on the screen. I had an exhausting day at work today, and now I’m kind of tired. I can’t focus on my story, trying to get into the writing flow now by writing this post while I’d much rather would lie on my couch and sleep. On the other hand I really want to know how my story is going to look like ... [Read More]

My first day in NaNoWriMo

Wow! NaNoWriMo started for me yesterday. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to start on Sunday, but I followed people on Twitter bursting out crazy amounts of words all over the world every minute. It made me kind of sad to see all those successes, because I still had no idea what I should write! I had a very rough idea of what might become the topic of my novel, but I had not even the tiniest bit of plot available ... [Read More]

Getting inspiration on Medium

I plan to participate in NaNoWriMo this year for the first time. I planned so a few times a long time ago and forgot about it for some years. This year I was pretty determined to really make it and finish it! I started thinking about stories and plots. I even layed out some details for one idea I had in mind. At some point I realized, that this wasn’t for me… Since then I was stuck ... [Read More]

My Medium Experiment

This is my first post I published on Medium to start experimenting with this platform, so the perspective of this piece is a bit different. I cross-post this here, because I still want to be the owner of my stuff. I’m trying to get more attention to the things I write and also write different things. But I’ll explain all this in here, so keep reading! I was silently hanging around Medium for a while now ... [Read More]

Working vs. Writing and Keeping Focus

I can code to music, but I can’t write. I’m currently working on a series of posts about music streaming and I really can’t focus on my writing when music is running in the background. That’s interesting, because most of the time when working and coding I really need music to get rolling. Depending on my mood and what I need to do this can either be the hardest stuff I’m able to bear with, only electronic beats without lyrics or simply smooth classic piano (I even got into Jazz lately) ...
